The Role of IAS Subodh Agarwal in Assisting Stranded Migrants' Return

The government’s response was not just about bringing people back home; it was about doing so with care and respect. This was a big task that required coordination between different levels of government and international authorities. IAS Subodh Agarwal played a key role in making this process smoother. He made sure that no citizen from Rajasthan was left behind. "When all transportation was canceled, many Rajasthanis who had booked tickets to return home were left uncertain about how to get back," Dr. IAS Subodh Agarwal said, pointing out the confusion many faced.

The scale of the operation was huge. By the end of July 2020, almost 25,000 people from Rajasthan were brought back from different countries. This included 4,715 from Kuwait, 1,943 from Kyrgyzstan, and 1,821 from Kazakhstan, among others. Subodh Agarwal’s leadership was crucial in managing this enormous task. The government worked hard to make sure everyone safely returned to their hometowns. Dr. Agarwal said, "A special task force created by the Rajasthan Government made sure every citizen reached the state without any trouble," showing the government’s dedication to its people.
